Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Rolls, plated and ready to serve

Northern Germany’s coastline has long supplied the finest smoked salmon in Europe, and this breakfast celebrates that heritage. Paper-thin slices of cold-smoked salmon are spread with a lemon-spiked cream cheese, dotted with briny capers, and rolled tightly with fresh dill — a classic Northern German breakfast plate, rolled up for elegant eating. These rolls vanish from the plate before breakfast has even begun.
