Faworki — thin, twisted, deep-fried pastries dusted with powdered sugar — are a genuine Tłusty Czwartek (Fat Thursday) tradition, eaten in the days before Lent begins. This version bakes rather than fries an almond flour dough into a similarly crisp, twisted shape.
